# Conversations in the Night
Caltiar stretches.
"I have grown accustomed to sleeping in wolf form," he says and shimmers back into the golden wolf.
Now that you have a moment to observe, you can see marked differences between his wolf form and yours. Tamwolf is built for the tundra, a powerful silver shadow made to race across ice and snow under a full moon. Caltiar's golden wolf is lankier, still large and muscular, but much lighter of frame.
He then speaks to you in "Wolf", that instinctive language made up of subsonic sounds, pack sense, and gestures and eye-movements.
*Also, One has given One's bedding to a prideful bug.*
He comments to you alone.
The shape informs the actions, and Calwolf turns in three circles before curling up, leaning his back against your ribcage, his own muzzle under his tail.
November snuggles up to your back, his head on your neck, his arms buried in your fur.
---
_The following conversations were observed by the Tam-Wolf as she slept. The wolf heard them, determined that they were not threats and simply stored them for later review by the Tam-mind._
---
Once everyone was settled, November cast a Tiny Hut around your party, so he could go to the Trance without posting a guard. A few minutes later the following conversation happened.
Vivi: November? Mr...er, *Lord* Bituin?
N: Hmmmm? Oh, yes, Vivienne?
V: It's cold up here on the surface. Deepwell is very warm.
N: I see.
V: ....
N: Did you know that wolves *and* elves are warm-blooded, and generate heat?
V: ....
N: Would you like to come sleep closer to us so you can be warmer?
V: [Scurrying sounds]
N: Why on my back?
V: It's the part of you that feels like a wall.
N: Okay.
---
When you are asleep, quiet and watchful but as deep as a wolf ever sleeps, a quiet voice steals into your mind. Diphalos, who has been very quiet for a while.
_Hi Tam. I'm sending this all at once like a letter. We are still in the 'wild and busy. Della has dream spies. Anyway. I see you found the yellow lizard again. What?!? **fine**, the **Dragonborn**. Leave me alone Old Man. Sorry Tam. I just wanted to let you know that when you want to dream again I am here._
---
A few hours later the wolf becomes aware of a quiet mental conversation, not directed at Tam, but "audible". Focusing a bit, the wolf realizes that it's November and Caltiar, and intuits that they are using the moonstone as a conduit.
N: So, Tam says she had buried her thoughts about me when you met.
C: Yes. I am sure you know what she was going through at that time.
N: Of course. But others told you about me.
C: Ephialtes and Diphalos mentioned you.
N: Oh dear.
C: The Father--
N: Mother, actually. E is male *now* but not always.
C: Ah, I see. The *mother* then, spoke of you as an honorable person. The younger dragon was...less impressed with you.
N: That's accurate, for the time. We know each other better now. Do you speak to the Dream Dragons then?
C: Not frequently.
N: Nor I. Diphalos and I know each other but we aren't like, dream-buddies like he and Tam. And Ephialtes rarely seems to have anything to say to me.
C: Indeed.
N: You mentioned that you saw the bond between me and Tam. You can see it?
C: Perhaps I spoke too literally. I could see that there was *someone* that was *missing* from her. Bel hadn't met you, but she clearly knew it as well. I once used the word "love" in regard to Tamara and the instant physical reaction told me that she was hurting for a certain lost love.
N: Hmmm yes. "Love". That is a complex word for her.
C: For... *her*.
N: Fair.
---
Shortly before you wake there is another quiet mental message. A voice you have heard only once before, but one you will never forget. Tymora herself.
Hey Tamara. Listen. Not *right away*, but I need you to come to one of my shrines, or preferably the Vale. I need to "Commune" with you. Ugh that's such a _Lathander_ word. But it's the only word that really works. It's not a rush thing. But next time you are on the mainland. Oh, say hi to Suvi and Sylvia for me.
